Quizzes and more quizzes

I haven't done this in a while... Basically I didn't really feel like doing my 3U maths homework, so I did quizzes instead! XD

All these quizzes can be found at http://www.quizilla.com/

Which Harry Potter character are you?

Hermione Granger

You're a well educated person who is smart and always chooses to do the right thing. Many people see you as their mother because they feel like you take care of them and that they need you by their side. Your number one priority is love, but other than that, it's studies!

HAHAHA, me as a mother? Don't make me laugh. Did I ever tell you about my evil plan of drowning babies....

What Board Game are you?

Pick up sticks

Casual and fun! You are portable, fun, and easy!
To play this game, you need to be casual

Pick up sticks - also known as the lamest game on earth. Is that even a board game? O_O

What do your eyes say about you?

Wisdom

Your eye's show you know what your talking about, you always give the best advice and always know which road is the right one to travel on.

I swear I am not picking all the nerdy answers. I just keep getting all the nerdy responses :(

What Hairstyle fits you?

Blonde (or light brown) curls or waves.

You are pretty shy but thats okay! So many people love and will love you! You dont need to change yourself for anyone and light hair will acompany your characteristic features perfectly! Stay away from layers and go with a fringe if you want to ^^

LOL me blonde? That would look really... weird.

What Kind of Cake are you?

You are a Mini Lemon Tart!

Mini lemon tarts are known to very sweet, but adding lemons to the mixture somehow makes it tastes energizing and sweet at the same time. You act cute at times but because of its exposed cover, you're prone to show emotions and feelings on accident, but you still keep your...cuteness and your sweetness. Life to you is something to enjoy sweetly, and it's like a calm walk through a breezy blue park for you.

When people say "cute", I think of bunny rabbits and daisies. lol. So I don't really think I did this quiz properly...

What Period in History do you belong in?

Victorian

You belong in Victorian Times! You are always try your hardest at everything. If you see room for improvement you won't rest until you can get no higher. Your ambitious and you are going to do well!

Oooh, I've always wanted to go back to Victorian Times. But the puffy dresses kind of make me want to laugh.

Which 2010 Song are You?

Baby Justin Bieber Ft. Ludacris

This song WAS A HUGE Hit for Justin and all the signs say this is ur song right now!!!!

LOL I wasn't actually gonna include this cuz its so embarassing. But I'm not gonna lie to my blog so... Baby it is. *cringe*

What Creature is your Soulmate?

Guardian Angel

You think someone is always watching out for you and will be there for you no matter what happens and protect you.

I never knew you could have a creature as a soulmate. Isn't that kind of creepy?

And now, for my favourite title for a quiz:

Are You Normal?

My result: Perfectly Normal

You're a fairly plain person, probably leading a somewhat monotonous life, but it's the way you like it. Your day would probably repeat itself a lot, but you've made sure only the best bits are repeating. You might sometimes wish for a bit of fun, and try doing something else, though this can then end up just incorporated into your daily rituals.

Wow really? I used to think I was a bit strange but apparently not. Good to know that I'm... normal :L

Spoiler Alert

The whole grade went to watch "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" today as part of our unit of study, "The Journey". Of course, no one really treated it as an educational excursion cause like dude, ITS HARRY FREAKIN POTTER.

*SPOILER ALERT*

It was good. As my sister already said to me, some parts were exciting and some parts were boring. What I really missed though was the whole Hogwarts experience. I missed the awesome potions classes and Defence Against the Dark Arts classes (DADA). I missed the moving stairs and moving pictures. I missed seeing the Great Hall, the ghosts, the Room of Requirement, Hagrid's Hut and the Fat Lady. Also, Neville and Ginny only got like, 10 seconds screen time or something.

What I did like though was the cool animation sequence for the Deathly Hallows Story. They've never had anything like that before. I also liked.... the reappearance of Dobby (didn't see him since the 2nd movie), Fred's (or was it George's) lame "holey" joke, the reappearance of Fleur and Umbridge, and Ron getting carried away at the Ministry of Magic and kissing his "wife". That made me laugh XD

It seems like every Harry Potter movie that comes out takes on a darker tone than the last. I remember the first film, when everything was all so bright and cute and Malfoy had that adorable combover. He still has a combover but his face seems to have grown out of proportion. Hermione gets prettier every movie while Ron seems to get uglier. I guess that's why they make such a good pairing. Also, I feel sorry for the people who haven't watched a Harry Potter movie or read a Harry Potter book before because they must've been so lost. Actually, what am I talking about? NO I don't feel sorry for them. What have they been doing their whole lives - besides acting like an ignorant muggle?

Anyways, it was pretty awesome - if though I did get a running commentary from Tian during the whole film. She especially liked pointing out to me very significant details. Such as when Voldemort leaned over Dumbledore's grave to steal the elder wand, she would whisper in my ear "GAY!" Thank you Tian.

Ahhh... but you see, the problem is, I think my parachute's broken.

I just spent two hours of my life researching Ancient Historians for my essay and another 30 minutes writing the intro of it. So far I have:

The three historians, Herodotus, Thucydides and Tacitus, although all belonging to the category of “Ancient Historians”, each had their own unique view on history and distinctive methods of approaching it. Herodotus, also known as the “Father of History” was famous for being the first person to collect accounts of events, analyse them and present them in literature form. On the other hand, Thucydides, the “Father of Scientific History” pursued a more systematic approach in which he cross-examined his sources thoroughly before publishing them and relied more on “cause and effect”. Tacitus, who has been hailed as the “Greatest Roman Historian”, had his own critical style of writing which differed from the others in his depth of analysis of the human mind. However one thing which these historians all had in common was that their works have all left lasting impressions which paved the way for the other historical works which were to come.

...and I must say that I am pooped. You probably fell asleep reading that, right? (Most probably you read the first sentence, realised that it was part of an essay and then just skipped to the last sentence.) Well how do you think I felt BEING THE ONE TO WRITE IT? Do historians ever feel like burning their books after they've published them?

Ok I know you don't care. You're probably thinking of the formal tomorrow night. Fine then, Imma just gonna go back to slavin' away at the computer while you dream of bright lights, music and dancin' with the guy/girl you like.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be cynical. I guess that's just what Taemin withdrawal does to me :(

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMO-MO!! (L)(L)(L)

Sigh

"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right." - Mary Kay Ash

What? Uh, I thought this was supposed to be inspirational.

Anyways right now, my dad is being a bitch and yelling at me from the other side of the door. He thinks I purposely left my sister at home when I went over to Nancy's house for dinner. Errr... no. What exactly would I achieve by doing that? lol. Point is, he's standing in the hallway going on about how I don't care about my sister and I should've checked that she was coming with me, etc, etc. And my mum's just nodding and agreeing.

And even though he's wrong (because I just heard my sister agree that she did in fact know about it but just didn't feel like going), I know better than to argue back and defend myself. Cause last time I tried to do that, I ended up in a yelling competition with my parents that resulted in my mum throwing a hissy fit and boycotting the formal assembly where I got my medallion.

But you guys know I'm innocent right? Jeez, if I wanted to ditch my sister, I wouldn't do it in a way that would make me get caught. Seriously... LOL, jokes. I wouldn't ditch my sister anyway - not when Nancy's treating us to pizza ;)

Well I'm sorry for the rants. Honestly, this blog isn't really for getting mad at the world. Rants make me sound like a spoiled little girl. I'll try not to post too many in the future. I guess I just wanted to let somebody know that I'm innocent since my parents sure ain't making my life any easier by YELLING. AT. ME. ALL. THE. TIME. Cheh.

HAHA

Dad: Your sister got her Sydney Girls yearly maths results back today.

Me: Oh really? What'd she get?

Dad: Top one.

Me: WHAT? Really? Sydney Girls' maths must really suck... Oh well, she's been Jimmy-trained.

Nancy: Jimmy's like Hitler. He's raising an army.

Dad: You should call him Adolf Jimmy.

Me: HAHAHA Adolf Jimmy. What was Hitler's perfect race called again? I think it was the Aryans or something. What are we called then - "The Jimmys?"

Nancy: No, we should be called "THE JIMJIMS".

So there you go. From now on, if you go to Focus College, you are officially known as a "JimJim".

P.S. I wasn't taking a jab at Sydney Girls or anything. I'm sure their maths is WAY above average. I'm just trying to point out to everyone that my sister's maths can't be that good :)

So Epic

Mainstay Productions (find them here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/MainStay-Productions/164905386860701) recently filmed a short film for The Hunger Games directed by John Lyde. It starred Danielle Chuchran as Katniss and Savanna Kylie Lewis as Rue. I still can't believe how good this actually looks. The music is great, the acting is awesome and the cinematography for such a short film is brilliant.

John Lyde filmed this with some of this actor friends as an audition for the real thing. And I have to say, I LOOOOVE their acting in this. It doesn't look fake at all. Although Katniss' hair is kind of ugly. LOL.

This isn't actually the real thing but it looks really close to it. Watch it. Seriously.

Here are some photos:

And this is totally off topic but I LOL'd so hard when I saw it.

American People are Funny

So like last year when I was in the US, I met this boy called Frank right, and he was probably one of the few "normal" people I met over there. No seriously. Americans are weird. I had around 9 distant relatives/cousins in America (all guys for some strange reason) and ALL OF THEM practically treated me like I had rabies or something. I don't know what was up but they barely talked to me. I don't know man. Maybe they were just really antisocial.

Anyways Frank's in Grade 7 or 8 right now I think and we still talk on msn and stuff. I remember feeling uberly pissed off though cause at first, it seemed like he thought Australia was some really slow country or something compared to the USA. I'd been listening to my iPod and it had stuff like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. And then he goes, "How do you know Taylor Swift? Do Australians even have pop music?" T_T I wanted to strangle him with my iPod earplugs.

Oh wait what am I talking about? I STILL WANT TO STRANGLE HIM.

(5:24 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: john wooden?
(5:25 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: heard of him?
(5:25 PM) cynthia: err.. that basketball coach or something yeh
(5:25 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: yeah very special guy i guess
lol i dont even know anything about australia
(5:26 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: except for
its country's name and SYDNEY
(5:26 PM) cynthia: lol do you know what sydney looks like?
(5:26 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: i think but i always think of kangaroos?
(5:27 PM) cynthia: yeh, people tend to do that but its just a stereotype the only places I see kangaroos are at the zoo
(5:27 PM) franklieu1@yahoo: really?
(5:27 PM) cynthia: yup
(5:27 PM) franklieu1@yahoo:i thought some live in the open
(5:28 PM) cynthia: they probably do... way back in the middle of Australia.

And then I had to show him a picture of Sydney just so he would believe me. Seriously.

He's a nice boy I guess. Just a bit deluded.... like every other single American teenager out there. I told him to come to Australia one day just so I could prove to him that there are no kangaroos hopping around. I also asked him what high school was like over there though. It is pretty interesting hearing about his life lol. For example, his Year 7 subjects are: algebra, science, l.a.(I'm guessing that has something to do with literature), music and PE. They're about the same but algebra is a subject that stands on its own. Kind of like how calculus is a whole different subject for them.

He also thinks I don't know what UCLA is. Puh-lease, I've watched enough 90210 to know ok?

How did that happen?

I like this one:

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." - Will Rogers

That is so relevant to my dilemma right now- it's creepy. I think I would like to keep that subject but if I am going to do that, I better get a move on cuz at the rate I'm going right now, it's very likely I'm not gonna pass it. And DAMMIT that means I need to start working on the project that is probably gonna be themostannoyingprojecti'veevercomeacross.

Anyways. Well. It seems like I've just signed up to audition for the Glee Club with Jessica. lol. I'm not exactly sure how that happened though... It was like a spur of the moment thing. I swear, we only wrote our names at the last minute of lunch today and like, auditions are tomorrow...huh. Isn't that funny?

It seems like I have the curse of the pregnant teacher. In year 9, Ms P became pregnant. This year, my english teacher, Ms S also decided that she didn't like our class and so she went off to have a kid. And then today I found out that my new English teacher is also gonna pop one out soon. DOESN'T ANYONE WANT TO TEACH ME? I swear, even Mr W is pregnant :@ Okay, maybe not him specifically but his wife is. LOL. I'm just kidding though, I have nothing against babies. Especially if they're little cute Taemin babies. Awww....

To Drop or not to Drop?

"The great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do." - Walker Bagehot

My friends tell me I can't cook and I tend to believe them. I think it'll be safer not to challenge that statement and try to do something I can't do. After all, the world would be a much better place if I didn't try to cook.

I feel like I'm Malcolm's dad from Malcolm in the Middle - I can't make decisions to save my life.

Should I keep it or should I drop it? What if I drop it but then end up regretting the decision later on? What if I only want to drop it cuz I'm feeling extremely lazy right now. I mean to be honest, I've got my free periods to work on the stuff but still..... What if I do keep it but end up doing extremely shit in it and then it would've been a whole waste of my effort for a year? WHAT IF I don't stop procrastinating right this second and then end up having to stay up all night to finish this stupid maths homework which I am getting too much of everyday?!

Anyways back to reading 'bout Life in the Trenches. I'm gonna leave you guys with an awesome piece of info I just came across.

Soldiers in WWI often had to deal with the constant annoyance of lice getting into their clothes and onto their bodies. Soldier George Coppard describes the experience:

"A lighted candle applied where they were the thickest made them pop like Chinese crackers. After a session of this, my face would be covered by small blood spots from extra big fellows which had popped too vigorously..."

Nice...

Bye Bonnie!

Just came back from a very productive MH lesson where Snez and I decided to give Justin Bieber a makeover:

Isn't he beautiful?

Bonnie's going to leave today.... She's ditching me in music :'(

BYE BONNIE!! As a substitute, I shall carry around a picture of Mr Bean's face and bring it to all our classes.

Hmm, what else did I want to say? Oh right. The songs I really love right now are:

  • Haunted - Taylor Swift
  • Teenage Dream (Glee Version) - I swear I could listen to it non-stop and not get bored.
  • It Hurts - 2NE1- one of the few mainstream kpop songs I can stand.
  • Boats and Birds - Gregory and the Hawk - I didn't really like it at first but it grew on me.

& lots and lots of kpop indie! Including stuff by Younha, Misty Blue, Casker and Shin Min Ah :D I also really love listening to old drama OST's lol. They don't make my withdrawal symptoms any better though.

I know Jasper Jones' secret

No really, I do.

Want to hear a funny story? No? Well too bad, you're gonna hear it anyway. A few weeks ago, I went to the library right? And I borrowed this book that had been dubbed "The Indie Book of the Year 2009". I looked at the cover and read the blurb briefly but didn't actually pay much attention to it. Then I brought it home and dumped it on the end of my bed and didn't look at it for the next three weeks.

And then last night, I finally picked it up and started flicking through it. I then looked at the title of the book and it was called "Jasper Jones". So then I thought, "Hmmm.... why does this sound familiar?" So I flipped it over and read the blurb again:

Late on a hot summer night in the tail end of 1965, Charlie Bucktin, a
precocious and bookish boy of thirteen, is startled by an urgent knock on the window of his sleep-out. His visitor is Jasper Jones, an outcast in the regional mining town of Corrigan. Rebellious, mixed-race and solitary, Jasper is a distant figure of
danger and intrigue for Charlie. So when Jasper begs for his help, Charlie eagerly steals into the night by his side, terribly afraid but desperate to impress. Jasper takes him through town and to his secret glade in the bush, and it's here that Charlie bears witness to Jasper's horrible discovery.

With his secret like a brick in his belly, Charlie is pushed and pulled by a town closing in on itself in fear and suspicion as he locks horns with his tempestuous mother; falls nervously in love and battles to keep a lid on his zealous best friend, Jeffrey Lu.

And in vainly attempting to restore the parts that have been shaken loose, Charlie learns to discern the truth from the myth, and why white lies creep like a curse. In the simmering summer where everything changes, Charlie learns why the truth of things is so hard to know, and even harder to hold in his heart.

Sound familiar Year 10s? Haha I suck, why didn't I read it earlier D:

Anyways, if you wanted to know, Jasper Jones' secret was that he found a young girl hanging by the neck from a tree in her "dirty lace nightdress". Says so on page 12.

On to more important stuff now, I AM IN YEAR 11. Kind of. Rollover *giggle* started today and it was awesomely gay. Gay because we're not in our good ol' familiar classes no more but awesome because I've got SIX FREE PERIODS PER WEEK.

I had my first double free period today and basically I just sat in the learning centre and er.... y'know just sat there. LOL. I kind of just stared at my modern notes a bit and then turned to discussing Jane Eyre and Harry Potter with Ms P. Then I walked out onto the balcony, listened to Mr Ebbot yell at his class and then walked back inside. & then the bell started ringing spastically and I was hoping that there would be a lockdown just for the sake of something to do. & then I decided that no, I wouldn't want a lockdown cause that might mean that I would have to crawl under the gum-infested table.

Tomorrow I'm going to have 2 more free periods and another 2 on Friday. What am I going to do? LOL. Ah well I guess I don't really mind. The learning centre has comfortable chairs... but it's a bit lonely. *SIGH* someone come visit me next time.

I have a feeling I'm going to hate Thursdays now. This is what I have on my timetable:

Period 1: 2 Unit maths with Ms Wheeler
Period 2: 2 Unit maths with Ms Wheeler
Period 3: PE
Period 4: PE
Period 5: Free Period (which isn't so bad)
Period 6: Free Period
Period 7: Maths extension with... you guessed it, Ms Wheeler
Period 8: Maths extension with Ms Wheeler

Like yay.

This is turning into a ginormous post so I'll just stop here.
BYE!

P.S. Spot the girl lol. I really do love Sunkyunkwan Scandal. Like best drama of the year. Seriously.

rant.

I feel very bored right now. I can't even drama without my shitty parents barging in and going "WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU LAZY GIRL? GO OUTSIDE AND RUN."

& then I go "What? But school certificate just finished. I can finally relax."

& then they say, "WHY CAN'T YOU BE MORE LIKE YOUR SISTER. SHE ALWAYS HAS TIME TO EXCERCISE OUTSIDE."

& then I say, "Yeh... because she doesn't do her homework."

& then they say, "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, STOP BACK-CHATTING TO YOUR PARENTS. YOUR SISTER DOES HER HOMEWORK, SHE VERY GOOD."

& I say, "Uh huh... and then she plays Maplestory when you walk out of the room!"

& then they say, "HA DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE TO US. YOU THINK YOU'RE SO GOOD? WHAT CAN YOU DO HUH? USELESS GIRL."

& then I really do start shouting at them CUZ THEY'RE JUST SO FUCKING ANNOYING.

****

Yeh, we always have these fights. I end up feeling so frustrated. Especially when they start telling me how useless and what a crap daughter I am >_> Mostly I can ignore them but tonight I can't cause all I want to do is relax after the school certificate. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? T_T

WHY D:

Yeh? Well tell that to my very unenthusiastic self. Sweet Cheesus, WHY'D IT HAVE TO BE A FEATURE ARTICLE?!

AFAKDVAOEASKAJSVKJASDK.

Phew, bleurghhh, okay, I'm good. Now back to wondering how being able to draw transects is going to help me succeed in life.

Taylor Swift, Tattoos and the End of Year 10

Happy Late Halloween? (SHINee style)

I have so much to say but when I start thinking about what to write, a whole lot of nothingness comes rushing out. I'll just leave this window open and type whatever comes to mind while I'm "studying" for history. Also if sentences are my like this it's probably because I'm listening to Taylor Swift's album while typing this (thanks jessica). Taylor Swift + blogging = unintelligible/incoherent/garbled posts :)

"Fear less, hope more;
eat less, chew more;
whine less, breathe more;
talk less, say more;
love more, and all good things will be yours." -
Swedish Proverb

I don't really understand how you can "eat less and chew more" but I guess this one can't be taken too literally. Although, I do like it cause it rhymes.

I will miss Year 10. I'll miss having classes with my friends, especially since most of the subjects I chose for Year 11 are different from theirs'. Everyone's still gonna see each other at lunch, recess and some subjects I guess, but it's not the same is it? Especially since most of us have stuck together since Year 7. I hope we don't drift... That'll be the worst.
Random Pic to separate my paragraphs :)
USUI FTW! XD
Hmm... what has happened since I last blogged? Well, my neighbours moved out. Actually they were kicked out for not having paid their rent for three months. I heard from my dad who heard from my aunty who heard from another neighbour that the police had come one night and told them to pack up their stuff and move out. I walked outside on Monday and saw a white sign stuck on their window and no furniture in their house. They were a bit strange... but I liked hearing the music coming from their house. Their family had awesome singers. It was better than listening to the radio sometimes. I wonder who's going to move in next?

Last night I dreamt that I'd gotten a tattoo and I spent the whole day at school trying to hide it from people. And when I got home, I was fully paranoid that my parents would find out as well. It was such a pretty tattoo though. It made me want to get one in real life - and then I remembered that that would involve needles piercing my skin and injecting some kind of ink into the layer beneath my skin and it would probably hurt.... a lot. Yeh... Reading Ink Exchange before sleeping is not a good influence.
Absolutely fantabulous cover / not-so-good book.

I think I'll stop blogging now. Ja ne~ ^^
