Interesting Facts: Twilight and True Blood References in The Sims 3
The title of this blog post is a little bit misleading. It should probably be called "Interesting Facts Which Will Only Interest Othilia And Tian". For the rest of you guys, have a song in Simlish as an apology for this extremely geeky post.

Yes it really is Eliza Doolittle singing and no, there's nothing wrong with your ears - the words are supposed to sound like that. Also if you think that's weird, you guys should check out Jason Derulo's version of "Don't Wanna Go Home" which he recorded in Simlish for the Showtime expansion. Click here for that.

In my spare time (which is basically every waking moment of these last few days), I've been playing Sims 3 Supernatural, which is basically the newest expansion of The Sims 3 franchise - at least until Seasons comes out in about a week's time. This new expansion came with a pre-made neighbourhood named "Moonlight Falls" designed by the EA team filled with pre-made Sim families and locations. One of these families look like this:
This family is also accompanied by the description:
Dude, they even nailed the facial expression.
This family is also accompanied by the description:
New to Moonlight Falls, Chester Swain came in the hopes of providing a better life for his daughter Bailey, who he’s raised alone. She’s his whole world, and he loves her very much even if he can be a little overprotective. Despite the time they spend together, Chester is somehow unaware of Bailey’s fanatical obsession with the supernatural. Can Chester find a way to protect his daughter from her own curiosity?
If that isn't enough, "Chester Swain's" occupation is a cop. Is this starting to sound familiar? If not, then here are a few extra facts about the Supernatural expansion I got from my experiences as well discussion forums on the internet:
- Bailey Swain's traits include: Clumsy, Loner, Bookworm and Supernatural Fan
- There is a baseball field in Moonlight Falls
- There is a beach called "La Shove" (La Shove... La Push....)
- There is a book you can purchase in the bookstore called "Breaking Wind"
- There is a new Romantic interaction called "Confessing to Watching You Sleep" which, when used, gives the other sim a "disturbed" or "creeped out" moodlet. LOL
- There is a vampire sunscreen lifetime reward for vampires that makes them "sparkle" when applied.
- There is an achievement called "Swan Dive" where you have to have a human female sim date a vampire, break up with him, make out with a werewolf, break up with him, and marry a vampire.
- And most obvious of all: in one of the vampire families of the town, there is a teenage vampire who has the following traits: Brooding, Romantic, Virtuoso and Vegetarian.
Here are a few other humorous things I discovered whilst playing the game/reading forums. I'll describe them for you and you guys can try to guess the reference. Answers located at the bottom of this post:
- There is a female sim who was raised by her late grandmother and who recently learned she came from a long line of fairies. She's blond and wears a blue dress. Oh and she works at "Sam's Market Diner". Traits include: supernatural fan, flirty, insane, unlucky and frugal.
- There is a household called the "Roommates Household" consisting of a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire.
- Moonlight Falls sounds somewhat similar to Mystic Falls... although this one might be pushing the envelope a little bit.
- There is a household of three sisters who are witches.
- According to some people, there is a new Ancestral Wardrobe object which your sim can walk into and apparently, they end up in some magical land.
- There is an NPC running round the neighbourhood called Oberon Summerdream.
- There is a lifetime reward called "The Philosopher's Stone"
- Oh and guess what? You can now travel via phone box... They call it the "LLAMA" system for some reason.
Answers:
- Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood
- Being Human
- The Vampire Diaries
- Charmed
- The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
- Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
- Harry Potter (Can't have witches and magic without a HP reference)
- Doctor Who maybe? That does look like a TARDIS to you guys right?
Hehe. Props to EA for for such skilful incorporations of pop culture references into their game. What I love most about the Sims isn't actually the gameplay, believe it or not. The best thing about these games is the humour - you never know what you might find out or what weird-ass interactions may end up popping up in the game. Anyways, I hope that was interesting for you guys. If not then I apologize for being such a geek LOL. I can't help it.

It's always near the end of the holidays that I finally feel like I have a purpose. My plan for today is:
- Modern History Study (finish dot points under syllabus) - although honestly, I never get the point of making notes. Especially if the subject is this broad. Wouldn't it just be better to read as much as you can? And then just store it in your brain? History is such a bitch to study for.
- Watch episode 16 of City Hunter, and then spend the rest of my day in a funk because I have to wait another week. CRYYYYYYYYY.
- Sims 3? Maybe? My household has too many people, ever since one of the teens came back from boarding school (due to a glitch) and my other teen sim turned her imaginary friend real. He's quite cute though. He's got the whole imaginary friend outfit going on and can even choose to turn into a toy form. I'll show you a pic down below.
- Watch another drama? LOL. I really shouldn't do this. But I can't help it. I feel like I have to recharge on fun before school starts cause once it does start, there will be no time for fun.

Okay if I'm gonna do all that, then I better get started. Bye fellow bloggers!

It's funny how some days, no one blogs at all and on other days, you go to your blogger dashboard and everyone's blogged at least once. Today was one of those days. Although most of it was Juliana's surveys :D
Anyways, I had an extremely lazy day today. I woke up at 10 and had to go to the bank at Canley Heights to deposit all my money. Now my money box is very light cuz it's empty of all those 50c's that ppl gave me for my birthday :L In the morning, my sister and I were playing with the moneybox locks. I found out how to pick the lock with a bobby pin :) Too bad that it only works on my moneybox, not my sisters'. Kind of pointless really... considering that it's not myself that I want to rob.
I fnished reading a book today called "Gone". It was awesome. It was about everyone 15 or over disappearing from a whole town and the kids that remain have to fend for themselves. Some of them have powers and stuff - kind of like X-men or whatever - but with romance. Wait a minute, X-men has romance too... i think.
This is the cover that I found when I searched it up on google images. But the one I borrowed from the library looks nothing like that. It's basically a black cover with the words "Gone" in yellow. Ugly or what? Thank god I didn't judge it by its cover.
Oh by the way, me and my sister were the slowest ppl at the bank. Our depositing took like 20 minutes :L I think it's cuz we had a lot of coins. But we talked to the lady behind the glass while we waited. She was nice. She felt sorry for me when I told her that I had a science yearly coming up :L
I played Sims 3 for quite a few hours today. My Sims got married and I threw them the best wedding ever :) Though you probably don't care.

I also had fun making me Sim date and then break up with ten different guys. She has now fulfilled the "heartbreaker" goal. Whoop whoop :D
Two days before my last Sunday maths class. *sigh*
What else did I do today? Erm, I watched Love Actually (again) cuz it was on TV. Did anyone else watch it? It's funny at times but there are scenes that make you go "ewwww". My parents walked in on one of those "ewwww" scenes :L Hahaha, that little boy is so cute. He's so young and he's already got a crush (and a kiss from the girl he likes). Talk about shameful.
Dammit, now I've got that song stuck in my head. The one that goes, "I feel it in my fingers. I feel it in my toes...Love is all around me. It's everywhere I go." Well, something along those lines anyway.

-even though its not really your birthday.
What is this about people working on their fairytale story at home?! I've barely written one page and some people already have more than 5 pages. And they call me a nerd LOL.
-sigh- Don't mind me, I'm just wallowing in despair. The long weekend is OVER. ><' No more playing Sims 2 for 5 hours in a row, no more waking up at 11 am and no more escaping from the world. Ok, that sounds emo. So, what did I do on the weekend?
Friday Night:
I went to KFC with Tian, Nancy and our siblings. We only had tissues for plates so we made quite a mess. Did you know that KFC has a new milkshake kinda thing? The promotion posters made it look like vomit - complete with disgusting, suspicious lumps.
After that we went to Blockbuster and borrowed "Marley and Me". HAHA. We kept pointing out the scary movies to my sister and made her look at the covers. I accidentally walked through the "adult" section and that corrupted my brain. When we got home, Tian, my sister and I watched it together on the big screen/projector. We thought it was comedy but no it wasn't, it was like a man's life story. The only funny thing was when the dog died but Tian didn't think so. She had tears in her eyes.
Saturday:
Played Sims 2 for 3hours. Went to tutoring. Came back and played another 3 hours. I'm trying to find some good snapshots:

This is a picture of one of the houses that I'm playing. If you look reaaaaly closely, you can see one of my characters playing the violin on the verandah.
& heres a close up shot of another family:

At night, we watched another movie. This time it was Ratatouille. OMGOSH its such an awesome movie. Sorry Norway, but I think I'm going to Paris.
Sunday:
I went shopping with my parents. It was soooooo boring. We ate pizza for lunch at this fancy restaurant and then we had to go. At somewhere, I was THIS CLOSE --> <---- to talking to someone but I chickened out. :L One day.. one day...
Monday:
Tian and I went to Othilia's house to watch her play Sims 3. We made a retarded family. Tian's character was wearing stripy socks with a short skirt and slutty top. She also had clown face paint and wore glasses. My character was the most normal. Her name was Luna TicSchmilton. Othilia's character was a short, chubby old man with long, white hair. He wore dark sunglasses, had a monobrow and a large nose with a moustache. His ears stuck out like paddles. It was terrible.
On the way to McDonalds, I kept seeing her character everywhere >_> Oh yeh, and at McDonalds, we sat RIGHT IN FRONT of the toilets. Classy :L
We went back to her house afterwards and I got owned in Rayman: Raving Rabbits. TUHH. Well, I did beat everyone the tracing game. (HAHA) XD
Woahh long post. Goodbye for now.
