Reverie


Luna loved to daydream, or nightdream, whatever you wanted to call it. And one of the best places to do that was up in the moon. She gazed down at the city lights, lost in reverie and absentmindedly kicking a stray cloud that drifted past. Humans were stupid creatures, she thought. Why did they destroy the sky’s luminescence by turning on all those lights below? Luna’s cousin, Nova, was a star fairy and she’d often complained to Luna that her brightness was being underappreciated by the humans. Unlike Luna, Nova hadn’t used to be a human before she became a star and was quite negligent when it came to humans. Luna just couldn’t destroy the star fairy’s dream by telling her that humans thought she was a giant ball of gas…
